J.C. Cob is a highly sought after studio guitarist, having landed radio and TV work, as well as live performance appearances with Del Shannon, Freddie Cannon, and other notables. Doc and J.C. met in musical circles several years ago. A friendship developed that resulted in the creation of their current act, a three-year collaboration which features a trip down the memory lane of America’s favorite and most beloved acoustic music. "We love the songs that we play," says Doc, "they are an important part of our culture and we feel honored that people seem to truly enjoy the way we deliver them, added to the nostalgia that they feel while listening to us play."
J.C.’s solo CD, East Coast Cowboy has received favorable reviews from the critics and is inspired by his ongoing love for Country Western music. The album also highlights J.C.’s immense versatility and imagination on the guitar, where he is second to none.
In an age where many of today’s acts feature sounds that are largely synthesized and artificial, Doc & J.C. have striven to keep their act as pure and as real as possible. "Other than simple amplification, we have resisted the urge to incorporate superficial devices to enhance our live presentation", says J.C. "We feel that the honesty of our sound is what works best for us, as well as preserving the integrity of what we are doing."
Doc & J.C. perform regularly in the New York/Long Island area. Check the appearance itinerary in he Schedule section of this site for dates and venue locations of upcoming shows.
